Mission:
To teach, develop, and offer youth
players the opportunity to learn the fundamental skills of basketball
while instilling life-lessons and values such as character,
team work, discipline, respect and sportsmanship. Our goal is to
empower young athletes to take it to the next level.
Overview:
Opportunities are available for a
recreational player looking to enhance their skills while playing for
fun to an advanced player with a competitive desire and
passion to become a complete player both physically and mentally.
Session 1:
This session is a recreational-based program designed to introduce the game of
basketball to beginners
in Kindergarten all the way through 8th grade. The program focuses on
teaching and developing basic fundamental skills, having fun and
learning the values of being part of a team and displaying
good sportsmanship. This session is open to all kids and skill level
with the intent to create equally split teams per division. Practices
will vary depending on age. K-2 can expect 1 practice time
a week, 3-8th grade can expect 2 practices a week plus weekly games.
Session 2:
This session exposes and offers kids a higher level of competition while developing
fundamental
basketball skills. Player development is stressed and disciplined,
team-oriented play is emphasized. Practice time and advanced training
are provided to enhance the skills of each player with the
goal and vision of having players ready to play at the next level.
This session includes our travel teams and will be invite only by
committee based on skill level.

Baranof Ballers is a non-profit organization under the umbrella of the
Amateur Athletic Union (AAU)we are a 501(c) 3 tax exempt youth

Summer
Summer is the time when kids earn their spots on competitive teams. Get a ball in their hands and have fun. And for maximum growth, kids should be doing the drills that coaches have shown them with focus, intensity, and consistency.
Camps
Ballers is holding a camp August 15th to 18th at BMS. We are bringing in High School and College coaches to run the camp. The cost is only $10 for 4 days of instruction! Register at https://app.teamlinkt.com/register/find/baranofballers.
FYI, Ballers realizes that there is a camp at Hames that overlaps Thurs/Fri (15th and16th) for older grades. The Ballers camp was initially scheduled around the Hames camp to maximize the opportunities for kids. Unfortunately, after Ballers locked in dates with gym rental and camp directors, the Hames camp had to move dates. Now the camps overlaps by two days. Fortunately for most kids, it is possible to do both camps.
The Hames camp runs from 9am to 3pm. These times are when Ballers camp has K-6th grade scheduled and since Hames camp is for 6th-12th grade (?), 6th/7th grade appears to be the only schedule conflict. If older kids have enough energy, they can actually participate in both camps. It could also be possible to attend part of the time since the Ballers camp runs through Sunday the 18th.
