Recreational league

Our recreational season starts ramping up around Thanksgiving with games and team practices starting in January and running until the end of Februray. This program is designed to introduce the game of basketball to beginners in Kindergarten all the way through 8th grade. The program focuses on teaching and developing basic fundamental skills, having fun and learning the values of being part of a team and displaying good sportsmanship. This program is open to all kids and skill level with the intent to create equally split teams per division.

Break down by grade:

K-2nd grade- 1 practice weekly on Saturday mornings. Each grade practices as a group learning the fundamentals of the game. There are no official games, but the kids will scrimmage during their practice after they have developed enough skills and understanding.

3-8th grade- 2 practices per week, games on Saturdays.

Children in grades 3-8th will be divided into appropriate grade group divisions and into evenly divided teams.  A couple of positives from this grouping:

• Smaller groups- each team will have 8-10 players depending on numbers. This will ensure each practice has adequate personalized instruction.
